Web Site Manager - Larry Hamel

Introduction

Welcome to the September 2010 version of the KWFN web site.  While it may look a little different, it is a continuation of the work that Neil T. Taylor, our previous Webmaster, has been doing for the past 13 or more years.  This site will continue to evolve as the skills of the current Web Site Manager develop and as the needs of the Kitchener-Waterloo Field Naturalists require.

Appreciation

Appreciation is extended to Neil Taylor for his generous willingness to let me draw freely from the many items that were part of the site he developed for KWFN.  This has been a real time saver for me.

Purpose

The purpose of this web site is:

- to provide an information and sharing forum for KWFN members;

- to provide information to others and encourage them to become involved with KWFN.

Suggestions/Comments

Please communicate with the Web Site Manager:

If there are items that were available on the previous version of this site that you would like to see included in the current version of this site;

If you would like to see something else included in the this web site;

If you would like to share a comment about this web site.

Any suggestions/comments that will help us achieve our purpose will be appreciated.  I will do my best to respond to each submission.

If you are so inclined and have the time,  please share your observations regarding typos and formatting concerns.

Helps for Users of This Site

Each page in this web site is referred to as a Content Page.

The buttons at the top of each page are referred to as Content Buttons.  You will find the same buttons at the top of each web page.

A single click on any  Content Button will take you to the page of your choice within the web site.

To return to the page you left (previous page), you may use the Content Button for that page or the Back Button at the top left of your current screen.

When you click on a hyperlink (link) within a Content Page and it takes you to a Content Page in the KWFN web site, you can return to the top of the previous Content Page by clicking on the Close Button [X] at the top right of your screen or, you can click on the Content Button for the appropriate page, at the top of the page you are on.

When you click on a link within a Content Page and it takes to a page that is not a Content Page, e.g., a PDF document that gives you the Outings for the month, you should click on the Close Button [X] at the top right of your screen to leave that document and return to the Content page.

When you click on a link within a Content Page and it takes you to an outside web site, you use the Close Button [X] at the top right of your screen to return to the KWFN web site.  You may have to do this several times, depending upon how far into the exterior web site you have gone.
